Haiku is building a next-gen UI creation tool emphasizing animation. We are looking for a talented creative engineer who can help showcase what our application can do. The person in this role will use Haiku to design, illustrate, and animate a wide range of UI components that will inspire others to use the product.
This role is best suited to a person who understands how challenging it is to build a product like Haiku. The ideal candidate enjoys going to great lengths to communicate bugs, missing features, pain points, etc. This person will become our #1 user of the application, and must be equally comfortable building jaw-dropping work and shaping/improving the product.
You think in experiences. You understand the difference between interface and experience and you're gifted in bringing the two together in novel ways. You might wonder why you can't stop sometimes.
You're technical, but also an artist. Maybe you've done an installation or two. Your design toolkit is wide-ranging and you're always expanding it to try new things.
You pay attention. You see a lot of detail that others miss — and are always looking for ways to make improvements, to remove friction, to inspire delight. You believe adding subtle details to a product can make all the difference.
You're a pro at collaboration. You’re able to present work that persuades others, but you’re also able to step back and think through competing ideas in real time. You actively seek out feedback from all levels of the totem pole in pursuit of improvement of your work and the product.
You want to work at a startup. You have a natural founder's mentality: You're self-reliant and self-motivating, you like wearing many different hats, you're eager to learn, and you gladly take responsibility for making any part of the product or company better, even if it's outside your role.
